Everyone needs a little bit of leopard print in their life whether in a form of shoes, accessories, top or a jacket a little hint of leopard print can go a long way in your wardrobe. Showcased in A/W 17/18 Tom Ford, Victoria Beckham and Max Mara featured Leopard print in some of their designs, all of the first row rejoiced when they saw this pattern hit the catwalk!

We also rejoiced too when our latest new arrival The Monroe Leopard Print Jacket flew into our office. This coat is a statement and can be dressed up or down, leopard print is a neutral which you can wear with anything.  Channeling my inner sixties side of style looking chic as Anne Bancroft in 1967 film The Graduate I layered this coat with a simple black high neck knit, culottes and red boots.

Before you push this trend to the side, let us do the run down. Furry handbags are one of Autumn/Winters unlikely contender for handbag of the season! Yes, you read right people. Handbag Queens, Victoria Beckham and Kendall Jenner have been championing this teddy bear trend and we could not resist in jumping on-board the ‘we want it too’ train! We have just dropped the Stardust Faux Fur Bag in two colours black and grey.

No longer will faux fur be just on your coats and the trim of your sweaters, this furry and soft bag will be gracefully sitting on your arm and officially deemed worthy as well. Sling one of these fuzzy and soft bags on your arm and prepare for people to stop you on the street, asking where you got it!

Their is nothing like the sweet smell of flowers and the sun flickering on your skin, yes I am talking about Spring! Spring is my favourite season! Why? because I can wear a feminine pretty new dress which makes me feel instantly happier. Also Spring is the perfect time to start introducing colour back into your wardrobe and if have kept things neutral throughout winter (guilty) and you’re not keen on bold colours, then it’s all about the style and structure of the dress. It’s nearly winter and this means 2 things: coats & layers. No cold season will ever be complete without the Coat Trend talk. Ever!

Frida Kahlo is a woman who cannot be defined or restricted by words, or may their not be any words invented yet to describe Kahlo’s beauty and strength.

Kahlo contracted polio at the age of 6, encountered an almost deadly accident at the age of 18 and went on to marry Diego Rivera, a muralist and ultimate womanizer. Although she suffered from physical illnesses which affected her well-being and lifestyle, she became one of the world’s most recognisable names in the world of art.

For me, she represents the pain that every woman on earth may be going through, whether it is physical, emotional or infidelity, which are expressed in her self-portraits so bluntly and poignantly. After clearly sensing the intensity of her agony in her paintings and diary, I can at the same time sense the greatness of her hope.

Is this a stitch up? From the catwalk to the streets, it seems everyone wants a bit of the embroidery trend. You must be living under a rock if you haven't picked up on this colourful trend. It's everywhere from Insta to Pinterest and every corner of the fashion world.

Embroidery is the most easiest way to bring colour into your wardrobe. I'm currently loving the Full Bloom Shirt. This colourful embroidery turns a plain pinstriped blouse into one with so much intricacy and detail. This shirt has turned into my ultimate wardrobe essential.

There is something so optimistic about gingham! Gingham is one of those prints that never really goes out of fashion. Made popular in the 50's and 60's by style icons like Audrey Hepburn and Brigitte Bardot, the checked cotton fabric has hit a 'style high' in 2017 and it looks like it will be continuing into A/W 2017.

Here at La Moda Stylist we are obsessed with this vintage print that we had to get it in a dress form.

Sicilian Affair Dress

As AH (Audrey Hepburn) once wisely said, ‘there is a shade of red for every woman.’ And while wearing the Gypsy Love Dress I have discovered how true this sentiment was.

This was the first time I’ve ever worn a red dress and I don’t know why I have never embraced this fiery hot colour before…maybe it’s because I have become too much of a minimalist (aka black is the ONLY option) or is it because I assumed red doesn’t  suit me? Well, I was wrong. I am now fully converted to red and especially to the RED DRESS. This vivid and racy ‘V’ plunging dress is amazingly shocking and is to be worn with no apologies.

Just another blog post about my current obsession with the slip dress. Why another post about the slip I hear? Because I feel like the possibilities on styling the slip dress are endless and can be worn any season, simply by adding or removing layers.

Crop tops first made a return late last year, but it’s not a trend (except for gals attending to Coachella) that everyone is so willing to embrace (particularly if you’ve been a bit lazy in the gym or if you have been eating one too many cheesecakes!) To be honest when I hear the words ‘crop top,’ I immediately think of Mel C, aka Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls in the 96 video clip “Tell me what you want, what you really want.... (or that time, when Sporty and Posh Spice kind of matched their crop tops on more then one occassion.) #ohlord #cringing

The off the shoulder top is no longer a trend, it’s a wardrobe essential. With a hint of bohemian about it, the current must have is one of the hottest looks to have and there’s no reason why everyone should not embrace this flirty piece. Spotted via Instagram on some of our favourite It-girls, off-the-shoulder silhouettes make for the perfect beach-to-bar outfits.

But what happens when you combine an off the shoulder top with stripes? Well…something amazing happens. Let me introduce to you our Swing The Mood Top! The name says it all! My love affair with off the shoulder tops started a few years ago (before the trend boomed across the fashion scene.) I adore how an off the shoulder top can make you feel, even with a longer sleeve it can still make you feel that you’re in the heat of a tropical summer sipping a mojito on the beach.

What’s not to love about stripes, frills and a little skin? Absolutely nothing! Showing off your neckline and shoulders in a top is sexy and flirty enough whilst leaving enough to the imagination. My number one tip with this wardrobe essential is not too go tight with the top; a looser bohemian look is the way to go.

Walk this way this party season in flirty polka dots! I know what you are thinking...polka dots? Isn't that something our grandmothers draped us in back in the day…. Well, I'm here to tell you Polka Dots are back and Polka dots are retro. And retro is both IN as well as pretty cool, I’ll say that! I have this idea that alongside the 70s trend, there’s a slight time travel fashion wise to the 50s and 60s. Polka dots were a must have back then.  Fast forward to 2016 and polka dots are feminine and oh so much grown up and are much more polished than in years past—slightly larger in scale than an understated pin-dot, but not quite that oversized.

I am currently loving this two piece set. There’s something simply charming about this polka-dot two piece, good enough to wear while out and about in Paris. Whether it’s that sweet flutter overlays, the  high waisted midi length, or those timeless rose gold mirror sunglasses, the whole look has me saying, “Oui oui!”

C'est magnifique is how we would describe this sultry blue, off the shoulder top. The off the shoulder silhouette is seemingly everywhere and it’s taking many different forms. With summer well and truly here, it’s time to turn our attention to easy breezy summer styling while still looking like a style icon in our everyday lives.
